The Opportunity:

Imagine you are flipping through a newspaper, skimming a textbook, or reading a scholarly paper in a journal. The pages are often filled with information presented in a text-based format.  But have you ever notices that, inevitably, your eyes gravitate towards the images, figures, or diagrams. If you are like most people, these visual representations of information helped you to remember the most important points, key findings, and critical concepts. The use of these visual tactics can be powerful tools to enhance engagement, increase comprehension, and long-term retention of information. Knowing the impact of visual tools has led to increased interest in the use of infographics for education and knowledge dissemination.
