Recently, delegates from the 2012 meeting of the American Medical Association (AMA) voiced opposition to state and national legislation to allow pharmacists the authority to prescribe medications without a valid prescription.  Read more about the FDA proposal here and here.  The recent response from the ADA can be found here.
